Ella Beaumont is a TV researcher, personal trainer in training and online fitness influencer.
Being a wheelchair user herself since birth and having studied sports science and disability at the University of Worcester, she has extensive knowledge of fitness, especially related to encouraging those with a disability to take part in sporting activities.
Also a qualified coach, Ella trains people of all abilities at her local wheelchair basketball club. She is a change agent for inclusivity, which stems from her positive attitude and passion to make health, fitness and team sports accessible for all.
During the 2020 lockdown Ella wasn’t able to find the kind of online fitness videos that inspired her, so created her own YouTube channel featuring daily wheelchair workouts. These were dedicated to helping wheelchair users and people of all abilities find ways to keep fit while indoors - a group she says is often overlooked in the world of online exercise videos.
She has since been dubbed the ‘Joe Wicks for wheelchair users', which led her to be nominated as a BBC Radio 1’s Lockdown Hero. Now she runs a series of weekly online videos on behalf of disabled charities, fitness equipment sponsors and community groups.
Ella has achieved many other notable accomplishments such as representing Great Britain in wheelchair basketball at the Under 25 World Championships in 2011, where she and her team beat Canada in the Bronze medal playoff. In 2012, she also carried the Olympic torch - one of her proudest moments.
Additionally, in her work as a TV and Film Researcher, she has worked with some big names such as Channel 4, BT and BBC, covering Rio 2016 Paralympics and preparing for Tokyo 2021. Also covering rugby, football and other televised sport, she works with commentary teams to support them with all the key knowledge and background on athletes and players.
Ella is a testament to how a positive attitude can take you a long way and she hopes to inspire many others of all abilities through her work.
